Mossley hill athletic club was established in 1924, the club has been a magnet for locals and sports teams here in Liverpool and country wide for 100 years.
We are excited to announce that the club will be celebrating our centenary year in 2024 (see social events for all upcoming entertainment)!
The club boasts facilities for our sports sections - football, rugby, tennis, bowling, running, hockey, archery and cricket. We have a large social section who have a dedicated lounge with large HD TVs and a function room with a state of the art 4K projector, big screen and kitchen.
Dogs are welcome in the club but must go in the function room only, stay off the furniture and remain under control at all times.
The function room is available for hire with an in house catering team if you require them. We are currently accepting new members so get down here and join in the fun!
The club now has a brand new dart board with it's own cabinet and throwing mat available for members and guests to enjoy.
It's located in our function room and has its very own light so you can see what you've missed easier!
Available when the function room is free to use (bookings take priority).

Our function room is available for hire for most occasions. Birthday parties - kids parties (up to 10 years) - communions - christenings - formal dinners - community gatherings - craft fairs - dance classes - funerals - sports dinners - team training classes - live acts - members functions - weddings - corporate meetings - baby showers - team building etc.
Our function room can seat 100 people (120 with standing), it has it's own bar and kitchen along with a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. We also have professional staging available which can be set up either as a small one piece stage or a larger two, three, four, five or six piece platform - perfect for live acts or after dinner speakers etc!
Brand new, state of the art disco lights and stage lighting effects are also available for hire. We can help with arranging chair covers & coloured bows, balloons, buffets and table cloths as well as fresh, seasonal flowers in vases for the tables.
Please note - we currently DO NOT accept 18th's, 21st's, end of school year proms or bouncy castles. Our sports teams use the function room most Saturday afternoons - however, evening function dates are available on a Saturday and on most occasions the room can be decorated during the afternoon - room cleared at 6pm and set up for your function usually by 6:30 / 7pm.
Sundays and weekdays may also be available but please check our calendar (below) before calling. Our in house catering team have over 25 years experience and can cater for vegans, veggies , gluten / nut allergies etc. Our kitchen has recently been rated '5' which is the food standard industries highest rating.

Linda will ask for the following details: nature of function - date and start time - how many people are expected - any special requirements. Lighting and / or custom digital demonstrations are available when you meet with Mike (if function room is free at the time)!
Membership is required (single £17 or family £25) and a quick legal disclaimer needs to be read and signed. Payment for the room hire and any extra services you might like will all be finalised when you meet with Mike at the club before your function at a convenient date and time.
If you require drinks on arrival and / or bar tab - we usually arrange payment for these options on the day / evening of your function.

'In house' table cloths are available for hire for your function. You can choose from either white or red. The cloths are washed and ironed before every function. They will be on the tables ready for your functions start time. Table cloths are £50 (for all round/square tables). Larger table cloths for our trestle tables (used for buffets) are £5 each to hire (up to four black or white stretch fabric - modern look cloths). NB: if you use our in house caterer the trestle table cloths are provided (traditional white cloths only).
'In house' white chair covers are now available for hire. They are made from polyester and spandex which makes them stretchable, wrinkle-proof, and durable. They stretch over the chairs to leave a modern clean look to the room. Pick your own coloured bows to add to the chair covers to complete your custom look. You can choose from pale blue, white, black, ivory, champagne, red, royal blue, or light pink bows. Chair backs are £100 (including bows and set up).
Add fresh, seasonal flowers to the tables !
x20 decorative vases with seasonal flowers will add a touch of class to the room - all set up for you before your event begins!
The small vases measure 3.54 Inches x 2.95 Inches - flowers are seasonal.
PLEASE NOTE COLOURS WILL VARY DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY!

We have a selection of disco lighting available to hire for your function at the club. 'Wash' lighting, 'moving heads', 'gobo's', 'beam', LED music 'chaser' lights and disco ball all come together to add excitement and atmosphere to any event. See video below for examples and ask our functions manager - Mike for more details. Post 'wash' lights £20 - disco ball £20 - LED tube lights (x5 on back wall) £40 - main 'disco' lights (ceiling) £50 - stage 'wash lights' £20 - stage 'spot' light is free.
We can offer full HD 16:9 (portrait) digital advertising 'space' on x4 dedicated monitors within the club and a spot on this website for a company logo with a link to your website.
